We say goodbye to Warren a lot at the moment; he has been away for 4 of the last 6 weeks and today he left again for another long absence. In an attempt to make our last dinner together an occasion, I piled up a small present for each of us on a cake stand in the centre of the table, each with attached toilet paper gift tag. I had made them earlier, quite pleased with my wit. I stand alone in my appreciation.
The house is quiet now with him gone, with the children at school. I had meant to spend the morning sorting out a rather long list of things that need doing, but sat around instead, rather poetically if I do say so, periodically trying to find the answers to all of life's dilemmas within a few clever Google searches. Turns out the only interesting answers are the ones that aren't really answers at all.
Cue summary quote: You discarded most of the lies along the way but held on to the one that said life mattered. Stephen King wrote that. Apparently. According to Google. You know, for a populist horror novel writing sort of a person, he can sometimes say the darndest things.
