New life rule #703: Stop buying meaningless crap.
Henceforth and forevermore all birthday and christmas gifts will be either made, bought from cottage industries, fair trade suppliers, or local businesses. As far as is possible, which means I am still going halves with the kids on an iPod for Christmas.
These postcards were bought from Kajsa's Etsy's shop with the last of my birthday money. I've followed her blog for years, and always loved her work; the colour palette, the humour, the deceptive simplicity. It makes me a very happy Megan to see her postcards up close and personal.
In other news, Henry is settling in well and turns out to be great company. Witty, urbane, and laughs at my jokes. A black elephant is much more fun than a black dog. Unfortunately I have run out of new canvases and white paint and the sads are at imminent risk of returning. I am sure healthy eating, some exercise, and a decent amount of sleep would be equally as good at keeping them at bay, but not nearly so satisfying. I think I may paint a black sheep next. Every family needs one of those too.
